Priory CC92 Limited, (The Employer) required the construction of a new 74 bed care home in Adhbourne, Derbyshire.
The home is designed to accommodate nursing and specialist dementia care. The scheme offers high quality accommodation with all bedrooms containing luxury ensuite bathrooms. The home includes a high spec cinema, hair dressers, private dining room and café bistro.
The scheme includes extensive landscaped gardens inclusive of a bat house.
Neo Projects provided Project Manager, Cost Manager and Employer’s Agent Services. The scheme was procured via a negotiated tender utilising a JCT Design and Build Form of Contract.
Partners on the project include Vestar Architecture Limited acting as the Architect, Pacy & Wheatley acting as Principal Contractor, Betton Consulting Limited acting as M&E Engineer, Rolton acting as Structural Engineer, LBI Design acting as Interior Designer.
The project included the demolition of a former derelict farm and associated buildings.
The project is located within a newly constructed residential estate and opposite a primary school so resident liaison has been essential since the project started.
Early difficulties were experienced with offsite drainage due to clashes with existing services. This required an alternative design solution and a new drainage strategy. Neo worked with the main contractor and engineer to ensure all viable alternatives were reviewed and accurately costed to allow the correct decision to be made. Neo then worked with the architect to ensure a S.73 planning application was quickly submitted allowing the alternative proposal to be progressed without delay.
The project is currently progressing onsite towards wall plate and is tracking on programme and budget.
