Wigan Council procured a programme of refurbishment and improvement works at Cherry Trees Community Centre, Atherton, forming part of wider sheltered housing and community facility upgrades. The works comprised the reconfiguration of the external landscaped courtyard, refurbishment of the laundry area and community hall, demolition of an existing single storey office, and the construction of a new office extension.
Neo Projects Limited was appointed by Wigan Council to act as Contract Administrator, providing full tender and pre contract / post-contract services. This including compiling the tender documentation, preparing the priced works schedule and managing the tender process via The Chest e-tendering portal during the pre-contract period.
Once the contracts were signed with the successful Contractor, project was delivered within a live community environment, requiring careful coordination of works, programme management and stakeholder considerations to minimise disruption while achieving the Council’s quality and functional requirements. Neo provided technical oversight throughout the short duration of the project, identifying issues during monthly progress meetings to assist the project team with their roles and responsibilities.
The scheme was successfully executed and handed over to Wigan Council in June 2025.
