Great Places Housing Association, (The Employer) required the design, construction, completion and defects rectification of 46 Nr houses and all associated external works and at Vaughan Street, Oldham. The scheme is intended to cater for residents of all ages.
Neo Projects undertook the role of Employer’s Agent on behalf of Great Places Housing Association for this development under a JCT Design and Build 2016 form of contract with Amendments.
The scheme was 100% affordable housing comprising of shared ownership and affordable rent. The development provided a range of housing to meet the needs of the area, whilst respecting and enhancing the site’s environmental and cultural assets. The neighbouring amenities make this an ideal location for new home owners such as supermarkets, butchers, restaurants, bars and leisure centres. The Site previously accommodated Our Lady’s R.C High School prior to its demolition and clearance. The landscape strategy was designed to incorporate a high proportion of native tree and shrub planting across the Site.
Partners on the project include RJD Associates acting as Principal Designer and BTP Architects acting as Building Regulations Principal Designer. Neo added value by managing the tender process to secure a compliant and commercially competitive contractor, while ensuring the Employer’s design and specification requirements were clearly captured and contractually defined. The scheme was completed and handed over to the Employer in August 2025.
