Fosse House Care Limited, (The Employer) required the construction of a new 50 bed care home in Stratton on the Fosse near Bath.
The home is designed to accommodate nursing and specialist dementia care.
The scheme offers high quality accommodation with all bedrooms containing luxury ensuites bathrooms. The home includes a high spec cinema, hair dressers, private dining room and café bistro as well as a small landscaped garden accessible from ground floor bedrooms
Neo Projects provided Project Manager, Cost Manager and Employer’s Agent Services. The scheme was procured via a negotiated tender utilising a JCT Design and Build Form of Contract.
Partners on the project include J Potter and Partners acting as the Architect, Feltham Construction acting as Principal Contractor, Betton Consulting Limited acting as M&E Engineer, NJP acting as Structural Engineer and LBI Design acting as Interior Designer.
The project included the demolition of the former care home to provide a luxury care home equipped with state of the art technologies and bespoke fixtures and fittings.
The site was incredibly tight and Neo had to negotiate an agreement with the adjacent farmer to utilise the access road through the farm to the site and land provision for site compound. Neo developed a relationship with the farmer and then continually met with the farmer each month in a role as Client ambassador to ensure all elements of the construction period ran as smoothly as possible. This was above and beyond the actual EA service but enabled a very successful outturn of the project both for the Client and for the adjacent land owner.
The home offers much needed high quality care accommodation for the small local community.
